Civil Service Commission

Purpose and Duties

The Civil Service Commission consists of three members appointed by City Council.  The Commission shall provide by rule for ascertainment of merit and fitness as the basis for appointment and promotions in the Police Department, and administers and enforces the rules and regulations related to the Civil Service System in the City.
