The City of Chardon is seeking questions and comments on its planned Traffic Signalization Upgrade Project.
In 2026 the City of Chardon is planning to upgrade all nineteen (19) existing traffic signals located throughout the City. Various intersections on Center Street, Meadowlands Drive, Water Street and South Street are included in the project. Traffic signal equipment upgrades will include controllers, emergency vehicle preemption, vehicle detection, system hardware, system communications, new signal timing and new central monitoring software. The project is anticipated to start in the summer of 2026 and be managed by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).
